Opmega analiza o futuro da miticultura galega nunha xornada en clave europea

The Galician Mussel Producers’ Organisation (Opmega) is inviting professionals, institutions and experts from the sector to the Edificio Mejillón in Vilagarcía de Arousa on Friday 29 May to attend the technical conference:

Mussel farming in a European context: current challenges and future prospects”.

In an increasingly demanding global context, this meeting aims to provide a forum for debate and reflection on the challenges facing Galician mussel farming. Throughout the morning, critical issues will be addressed, such as the fight against food fraud in fisheries and aquaculture, innovation through European projects such as FishEUTrust, and the strategic importance of understanding how European Union institutions operate in order to defend the interests of our sector.

The event will feature representatives from international organisations such as the FAO, thought leaders from the technology sector, and Members of the European Parliament, providing a comprehensive and essential overview to ensure the competitiveness and sustainability of our mussel beds.

For Opmega, this event represents a further step in its commitment to the professionalisation and international promotion of our product, concluding with a moving tribute to the producer Manolo “O Pescador”, and a mussel tasting led by chef Miguel Mosteiro.
