A tablet to control rafts (‘bateas’) and agreements to accelerate collections and ensure sales
Far from what anyone might think, the work of an association of ‘bateeiros’ is not limited to agglutinate the work of its producing partners, organize sales or find customers. It is something much more ambitious, and evidently the lines of action and management are much more complex the larger the entity is. Logically, this work is multiplied when it comes to a conglomerate of associations of ‘bateeiros’ such as Opmega, with partners in all the Galician estuaries and Portugal.
As an example of this management, which could well be defined as the mussel tillage in the dispatches, it can be said that Opmega has recently signed a “factoring” -a contract through which a company transfers the invoices it has issued and in exchange obtains from immediately the money to expedite the collections- for an amount greater than 5 million euros.
Apart from this operation, an alternative financing for the bateeiros that consists of a contract through which a company transfers the service of future collection of credits and existing invoices in its favor to, in exchange, obtain the money immediately, Opmega has signed “an important agreement with one of the most important credit insurers worldwide to guarantee all our sales”.
Not forgetting the agreement reached with the University of Santiago for the development of “a project in the detection of infective enteric viruses in molluscs undergoing treatment”.
Another of his outstanding projects is the development of «an App for IOS and Android destined to the management of the batea by means of tablets», in such a way that «our producers can manage their rafts in a simpler way», as much in regard to the control of tasks such as cheek crocheting as to the splitting and reparqueo.
This application also allows them to know the traceability of the product in each rope, have a historical record of tasks, control production and optimize profitability for each kilo of mussels, among many other advantages.
