Chef María Morales inaugurates the OPMEGA mussel gastronomic days in their Christmas edition

It will be at the Barceló Market in Madrid on November 30 at 12 noon. The Masterchef finalist will offer a cooking show in which the Galician mussel will be enhanced thanks to the combination of different techniques and flavors.

The programming of the OPMEGA gastronomic days continues from November 30 to December 2 with another 4 free showcookings, tasting of different mussel dishes and gifts for purchases at the fishmongers. You can also visit the exhibition “Mujeres bateeiras. “The mussel through the hands of women.”

 

Vilagarcía de Arousa, November 22.- Faithful to her reputation as an innovator with respect for tradition, María Morales will add flavor and nuances to two dishes made with  mussels within the OPMEGA Gastronomic Days in Madrid. It will be in a free showcooking that will take place on November 30 at 12 in the morning in the central Barceló Market. This activity, promoted by the Mussel Producers Organization, tries to promote the use of this Galician bivalve as the main ingredient in Christmas menus.

The chef from La Mancha will cook live and present two different recipes that attendees will have the opportunity to taste. Participation in this activity will be completely free until the maximum capacity established at twenty people is reached. The only requirement will be to have purchased at least 1kg of OPMEGA mussels at one of the market’s fishmongers and register at the OPMEGA information stand located on floor 1 of the Barceló Market. Attendees who are left without a place in the cooking exhibition directed by María Morales will be able to register for other cooking shows offered by the Galician chef Miguel Mosteiro. All cooking samples will be held at the stand installed in the Barceló Garden, a multipurpose space located on the 0th floor of the market.

The OPMEGA gastronomic days are completed with free tastings of different mussel recipes offered throughout the day on the 1st floor of the market, gifts for mussel purchases at the fishmongers and the exhibition “Mujeres bateeiras. “The mussel through the hands of women.”

Promoted by the main organization of Galician bateeiros and supported by Mercados de Madrid, the OPMEGA Gastronomic Days have become the perfect initiative to publicize the nutritional and gastronomic benefits of mussels, while at the same time claiming the importance of markets as distributors of the best fresh product. Furthermore, in this special Christmas edition, and given the increase in prices in the shopping basket, the mussel is presented as a very affordable seafood with numerous possibilities in preparations for the holidays, with nothing to envy those made with shellfish. much more expensive.
