Opmega repeats its support to the Festa do Mar de Combarro with 300 kilos of mussels and its exhibition on women

Vilagarcía, August 29, 2023.- The exhibition “Mulleres Bateeiras. O méxillón a través das mans das mulleres” returned to the streets after its inauguration last March in Vilagarcía, where it premiered to commemorate Women’s Day. On this occasion, the photographic exhibition moved to Combarro in a special collaboration between Opmega and the Festa do Mar in this town, a celebration that has the support of the bateeiro sector associated with the organization, whose partners also contributed more than 300 kilos. top quality mussel.

Over the weekend, hundreds of people watched the exhibition promoted by Opmega and the Mulleres Salgadas Association with the aim of highlighting the role of women in Galician mitucultura. The mayor of Poio, Ángel Moldes, and the councilor of the Sea, Alfonso Villares, also toured the exhibition that includes, through twenty photographs, the role of women in the sector from 1952 to the present.

The photographic exhibition, with which Opmega has sought to put a face, name and surname to these women in the sector, will continue to visit other Galician towns to publicize the model of resilience and willpower that these professionals embodied throughout history.
