“There are coworkers who did not work the rafts”

Ricardo Herbón presides a Producers’ Organization of Mussel that has partners in the entire Galician coast. The balance sheet of 2016, and waiting the last moment of Christmas, Herbón refines his answer because the year has offered very different results depending on each zone. «For some producers of Galician mussels, this was a great year. However for others producers, for example from Bueu, it was very bad because of the toxin. Some rafts were not touched” says Herbón. Furthermore, this has been a year in which Opmega has taken a new challenge: to seek new horizons for the mussel that growns in Galician estuaries and open the production in other countries out of Galicia. The producer organization is studying the market in countries such as Switzerland or Poland, where Galician seafood is appreciated based on the new bivalve processing formulas, Opmega wants to bring their products to these markets. They know it will take time. “Things must be done carefully, without hurry to make them go well”
